5 special applications and designs

Providing training is a skill in itself; you have to be able to captivate your students and thus know how to deliver your presentation in a lively way. This includes solid training material. Of course, this material must arrive safely and completely at the training location. And that is precisely what my colleagues and I specialize in.

It is always a great challenge for me to think with clients about solutions for the double function that a training case has for them; namely to protect and to get the message across to students in a good way. Of course, I could tell you about all the hypothetical possibilities in this area, but I’d much rather show you a few examples. These are all inventive cases that we at Faes have developed and produced for various customers.

Case with complex electronics for Lenze

Especially for Lenze B.V. – a manufacturer of hardware and software solutions for machine automation – we developed this training case. The flight case has integrated complex electronics, creating a working setup with which they can train their people at Lenze.

A suitcase equipped with ... water!

I hear you thinking; isn’t the purpose of a case normally precisely to keep water out? True, but in the case of Flamco – a heating installation company – it was different. They use this training case to train installers and show them how their piping system works, with real water! A fun and inventive project.

A medical tool to train on animal 'models'

Medical Training Tools improves training processes in medical care. To make these as realistic as possible, they often use animal models, such as pig stomachs and intestines. For this purpose they came up with the TD-Box (Tractus Digestives Box), for which we were involved in the development at an early stage. The package of requirements looked quite different from a “standard” packaging request, I can tell you.

Philips Healthcare: big machines, long distance

Philips Healthcare approached us with some specific questions:

  • How do we get our (large) equipment safely transported to training locations on the other side of the world?
  • How do we make sure we don’t have to keep repairing or replacing the packaging (at that time, they were using wooden boxes with locks and handles that “stuck out” and thus were easily damaged)?
  • We would like packaging with a presentable, professional appearance.

So we developed this packaging for Philips. A case in the company’s professional house style, with a protective compartment and equipped with integrated handles and locks.

Trainingskoffer van Faes voor Enexis met interactieve maquette

A playful training case of 'royal class' for Enexis

Enexis uses these cases in its training center. There, they visually introduce staff members to the technology of the energy world. In addition, the cases are used to give lessons at schools, to playfully introduce children to the technical aspect of energy connections and to enthuse them about a job in electrical engineering.
